Fine furniture commissions and restorations are Mike Faill's speciality
Mike Faill discovered a love of creating and making in wood whilst a scholar at The William Baker School on Hertford in the early 1960s.
After leaving William Baker Mike went on to Hull Technical College as a student on a pre-apprenticeship Building Course. This led to an apprenticeship in joinery with The Hull City Engineering Department. During this time he gained The Yorkshire Craft Certificate, The Advanced Certificate and The Full Technology Certificate in Building. He went on to become involved in a wide variety of high-class joinery, which included projects in banks, department stores and civic buildings.

Coming to Rugby in 1981 Mike took up the appointment of civilian instructor in carpentry and joinery at Onley Young Offenders Institute.

In 1984 he decided to set up his own business following a wish to create pieces of individual character to a high standard of construction, meeting the specific requirements of the client.
In recent years Mike has narrowed the focus of his work to fine furniture commissions and restoration. He also has been a part-time tutor at Rugby College.
